The Foundation has a public utility character and pursues the following purposes without profit. The promotion of model railways, in particular through the acquisition, enhancement, maintenance and management of miniature train models and everything connected to them (including models and their extension). The acquisition, maintenance and enhancement of historic properties in Ticino that should arrive in ownership, including the possibility of making them available to the public as a museum or exhibition venue, respectively as a center for seminars, congresses or events. The promotion of training (both basic and continuous) of students domiciled in Ticino or of Ticino origin, particularly deserving, as well as the support of university-level training and research institutes or specialist schools, in all fields, for example through the support of specific scientific projects or the recognition of scholarships. More generally, the support of scientific, medical, cultural and social projects, for example through financial aid to Ticino and Swiss organizations or institutions of public interest. The Foundation may acquire, hold and dispose of real estate even for the sole purpose of obtaining the means for the pursuit of its purposes.
